T-Mobile owners of the LG V30 ThinQ can finally upgrade their devices to the newer Android 9 Pie operating system. The OS is available to download and install via the LG Bridge, but the OTA rollout isn’t available yet.

LG users of the V30 in other markets started receiving their Pie updates in late July. Even though the road was initially quite rugged for folks in Europe and Australia, the LG V30 Android Pie update is now settled and good for use as a daily driver in even more markets.

In the U.S., the V30 Pie update first arrived on Verizon Wireless before makings its way to more carriers, namely U.S. Cellular and more recently, AT&T. The fact that T-Mobile was lagging behind other carriers, including U.S. Cellular, wasn’t met well.

Confusion further ensued when it was recently claimed that the T-Mobile LG V30 Pie update hadn’t even entered the development stage, but there were assurances that the OS was still coming.

As of this writing, reports coming in thick and fast claim that the T-Mobile LG V30 Pie update is now live. While you can’t have the OTA download notification right away, you can get it by going through the ever-reliable LG Bridge.

According to LG-centric publication My LG Phones, the T-Mobile LG V30 Pie update is arriving as version H93230d and, as expected, it targeting the variant with model number H932SV.

Besides the new OS, the update also brings a new Android security patch for the month of August 2019 alongside the usual bug fixes, performance, and stability improvements. Of course, as part of Pie, you can also expect plenty of new features and changes to the UI.

As noted, the incoming T-Mobile LG V30 Pie update isn’t airborne yet, but we can confirm that Pie is already up for grabs via LG Bridge. This route mostly works for updates that aren’t yet available over the air, but be sure you are in for the hassle.

Confirmed here. LG bridge gave it to me, no issues.

It’s only a matter of time before the airborne rollout begins. So far, T-Mobile hasn’t updated the V30’s software update page, which explains why most people haven’t received the download notification by now.
