Here’s the crux of the article in video form:

The latest Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro phones, launched last month, are making waves with their impressive features. These phones are available in the US through various channels, including the Google Store, Amazon, Best Buy, and retail stores. Additionally, US carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile are also offering the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro with some enticing deals.

Pixel 8 limited storage options on T-Mobile

However, if you’re looking to grab a Pixel 8 from T-Mobile, you might find yourself a bit limited in the storage department. T-Mobile is only offering the 128 GB variant of the Pixel 8, which can be a bit disappointing for those who were eyeing the higher storage options of 256 GB or 512 GB.

In contrast, both Verizon and AT&T are providing customers with access to higher storage variants. AT&T customers can pick up the Pixel 8 with storage options of up to 256 GB, while Verizon takes the lead by offering three storage choices – 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB.

This isn’t the first time T-Mobile has taken this approach with Pixel phones. A look back in history reveals that even the previous Pixel models, like the Pixel 6 and the still-listed Pixel 7, also had just one storage option of 128 GB when offered by T-Mobile.

Unsurprisingly, this approach has left T-Mobile customers frustrated because they are unable to purchase a Pixel 8 with the storage capacity they desire. Some have even accused T-Mobile of steering Pixel users towards other brands like Samsung and Apple by offering only a single storage option. Also, it is being said that T-Mobile initially offered more storage options on Pixel phones, but they don’t anymore.

Here’s possibly why

Yet, there might be a reasonable explanation behind T-Mobile’s decision to provide only one storage option for Pixel phones. As per some users, T-Mobile stocks only the lowest storage option for devices unless those devices prove to be top sellers for them. For example, T-Mobile offered the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in 512 GB and 256 GB variants, however, they excluded the 512 GB version probably due to a lack of demand.

This indicates that T-Mobile bases its product offerings on customer demand. If a particular phone is in high demand, they are more likely to provide a variety of storage options for that specific model. And if that’s true, we will possibly see more storage options, other than 128 GB, for Pixel 8 phones on T-Mobile once they are in demand.
