Although it has been an issue reported for quite some time, the stuttering experience when scrolling through the UI of Pixel devices persists to this day for some users, which could leave a bad impression on Google’s mobile flagships if not resolved soon.

We’ve covered this issue before, so it’s not exactly new. Sadly, the situation does not seem to have changed as related reports continue to emerge day after day with no apparent solution on the horizon.

According to affected Pixel users, even apps like the Play Store or YouTube exhibit ‘janky’ behavior while scrolling through the UI. This also happens on the Pixel 8 Pro, the brand’s most recent and powerful flagship which, although it does not integrate the most powerful chipset on the market, should allow a fluid scrolling experience in non-demanding apps.

Reports about the issue continue to emerge even after the latest January 2024 Pixel update, causing frustration among those who don’t know what to do to get the smooth experience they deserve.

That said, while there are users facing a frustrating experience, there are others who claim to be quite happy with the performance of their Pixel devices after recent updates. For some reason, there are people who have not been negatively impacted by the situation.

The issue reportedly started after the Android 14 update

According to the original report in the official Google issues tracker, the problem began after the Android 14 update in October 2023. Curiously, one of the main improvements in the December 2023 Feature Drop update was a significant performance improvement in gaming, but even that didn’t help resolve the situation.

One of the reasons for choosing a Google Pixel phone has always been the software experience, both in terms of updates and smoothness. So, experiencing this type of issue even on the company’s most powerful models does not leave a good impression, especially if it doesn’t get fixed soon.
