Bethesda’s massively open-world RPG, Starfield, has reportedly been experiencing an issue where players are unable to interact with workbenches, chairs, and other in-game items. Below are some workarounds that could provide temporary relief.

Starfield workbenches, chair, captain seat bug

It appears that there are several bugs in Starfield that prevent players from interacting with chairs, stations, and workbenches.

Some players have reported that their characters freeze in place behind the chair or station, while others have encountered an “Obstructed” error that prevents them from using workbenches.

Several reports are available where players are sharing how they are affected by the bug. Players experiencing the “Obstructed” error have mentioned that the workbench also becomes inaccessible by another structure at their outpost.

Workarounds

While there are no official workarounds or statements available for the issue so far, some players have shared temporary workarounds that may offer some relief.

  • Try deleting and then replacing the workbench or restarting the game.
  • Players can also attempt to reload a save and uninstall mods.
  • Switching from 1st person view to 3rd person mode may also work.

All of these methods are unofficial workarounds, and there is no guarantee that they will work.
