Starbucks recently announced a week-long event where users can participate in Arcade games and earn rewards to access special discounts.

However, a slew of reports popped up soon after revealing the broken functionality of the event.

Starbucks Star Arcade not working

Many (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) have been reporting an issue where the Starbucks Star Days Arcade is not working or freezing constantly for them.

Apparently, it is either crashing or not loading any of the arcade games due to a UI glitch.

Those affected have tried restarting the Starbucks app and their phones but to no avail. Even reloading the webpage doesn’t seem to fix the issue.

Unable to claim rewards

Apart from the crashing issue, some are also unable to participate in the Arcade games and earn special rewards.

Same with me! I played this morning and won 2 “gifts” but only received and email for one. This was a stupid idea on Starbucks part. None of the game will load and they don’t give you a bigger screen to win.

@Starbucks your promotional game is so glitchy. Says I won my two prizes for the day but never got an email. Lame.

After winning the games, you are supposed to get an email that helps you claim rewards but they either aren’t receiving the email, or the reward link doesn’t work at all.

This has left many disappointed as they are unable to acquire the prizes even after winning the game.

Potential workaround

We have come across a workaround that can help fix the issue temporarily. It includes clicking on the link received via email repeatedly.

I was able to successfully claim the winning stars from my phone. Clicking the link in the email opens a webpage that then opens the app start, with a open button for the app. After clicking open the app, it gave an error. Tried again and next time it worked. Same with the other winner email; took 2 tries opening it.

The above-mentioned workaround can possibly help those struggling with claiming rewards. Unfortunately, Starbucks hasn’t officially commented on either of the issues yet.

10:39 am (IST): Starbucks support has acknowledged the issue with Star Days Arcade and said that they are currently looking into it.
