Video game development studio Respawn released the next-gen version of its popular third-person action-adventure video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.

The next-gen version has many new technical improvements such as 4K HDR support, improved 60fps performance, higher-resolution assets and textures, and faster loading times taking full advantage of the capabilities of the new consoles.

PS5 and Xbox X can run the next-gen version of the game at 1440p at 60fps in performance mode or in 4K at 30fps, while Xbox S is locked in at 1080p at 60fps.

Respawn released the next-gen version of the game as a free cross-generation upgrade to the current owners of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of the game.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Just a day after the launch Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order received a new required patch which may need a full game re-download on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.

Such patches are usually not this big in size and don’t require a full game re-download. But users shouldn’t expect anything exciting from this patch as Respawn has made it clear that it’s nothing game-impacting.

Respawn has said that the patch is basically bringing under-the-hood code up to date as part of the rollout of the next-gen update and is nothing game-impacting.

Respawn has also said that this should only be a one-time inconvenience and future “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” patches will be much smaller and won’t require a full game re-download.

We will keep an eye on any future developments regarding the new next-gen version of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and keep you updated.
