Sprint users in the U.S. are reporting that a new Samsung Galaxy Note 10 software update is now available for download with the latest Android security patch for September 2019.

When Samsung started dishing out the said September 2019 security patch to the global/Exynos variants of the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ a few days ago, we thought it would take the usual long wait before the same update arrives on U.S. carrier-locked variants.

How wrong we were! Little had the dust settled than Samsung begun spreading this love to more units, with the Galaxy Note 10 5G the first to benefit from this love.

And as of this writing, those using either Galaxy Note 10 variant on Sprint can already grab the updated firmware and bump their security patch level to the latest version available.

The Galaxy Note 10+ software update on Sprint carries firmware version N975USQU1ASHB and weighs over 237MB – which is slightly heavier than a typical security patch. Granted, there’s more in there than just the September patches.

And true to this, the changelog mentions something to do with improvements to audio quality through wired headphones.

Sure, there’s still no mention of the standard Galaxy Note 10 September security patch on Sprint, but we do believe the same build ASHB is headed to this variant as an OTA.

Also, other U.S. carriers have yet to begin rolling out this update to their Galaxy Note 10 variants, but the wait shouldn’t be long now that Sprint has set the ball rolling. On the brighter side, for instance, T-Mo is already testing Android 10 updates.

It’s not just the Note 10 receiving the latest September security patches. As I write this, the Galaxy A7 2018 is also receiving a similar update on model SM-A750F as version A750FXXU2BSH8. The A7 2018 also has other variants with model numbers SM-A750FN, SM-A750G, and SM-A750GN.

If you are on model SM-A750FN, the same September patch should come your way as software version A750FNXXU2BSH9. As for those using models SM-A750G and SM-A750GN, the September patch hasn’t arrived yet.

The changelog is the same for both models SM-A750F and SM-A750FN. Besides the updated security patch, you also get improvements to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity alongside the usual bug fixes.

· Wi-Fi connectivity and stability have been improved.
· Bluetooth connectivity and stability have been improved
· The security of your device has been improved.

Again, both Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy A7 2018 updates are available over the air, so it may take several days before all units receive the download notifications. You can always try forcing the updates via the software update section in the settings menu of your device.

Tech has been my playground for over a decade. While the Android journey began early, it truly took flight with the revolutionary Lollipop update. Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem.
