New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on October 05, 2021) follows:

Since its release back in 2006, Spotify has gradually grown its user base into millions and became one of the most popular audio streaming services worldwide.

But being popular does not mean it’s always free from flaws. Users of Spotify often report bugs in the app that sometimes interrupt their listening experience.

Lately, some Android users are complaining that the equalizer settings in Spotify is missing. An equalizer is that setting of a music player which allows users to change audio variation by adjusting certain frequencies.

As per the reports, subscribers are unable to find the equalizer option in the Spotify app. This issue is likely affecting Spotify users on Google Pixel phones, but it’s possible others could be affected too.

Overnight, my pixel 4a equalizer, which I usually was able to find in the Spotify app above storage, disappeared. I can’t turn it off, and as a result, my music is slightly quieter at the gym (I use it when I’m at home, and when I’m at the gym, I turn it off). Anyway, I would like to turn it off but can’t find it under any setting, both within Spotify and the system settings. What am I missing?

The equalizer button isn’t in my settings on my android phone. I know I used it before, but I can’t find it anymore. Where did it go?

Looking at the multiple reports doing rounds (1, 2, 3, 4), this looks like a widespread issue that may have likely come about as a result of a recent update to the app.

Meanwhile, it’s good to see that Spotify is aware of this bug and currently investigating the issue.

Currently, there are no workarounds provided that we can suggest besides the usual re-installing or clearing data/cache or signing out and back in to the app.

Moreover, the company is already taking care of this bug, so we would recommend waiting until devs fix the issue.

That said, we will keep you updated on any further developments of this story as and when something comes to our notice, so stay tuned.

Also, if your device is missing the equalizer settings in the Spotify app then do let us know in the comments section below.

Update 1 (October 18)

An individual has taken to the Spotify community forums to confirm that the feature is once again working on version 8.6.70.1102 of Spotify. So we’d suggest installing the latest update right away to get back the equalizer.
