Some Spotify users have lately been encountering an issue where the ‘add to queue’ option for playlists is missing.

This option makes it easy to queue tracks from different playlists and play them together or combine them in a new one. However, people are disappointed as they can no longer find the option to do so.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple Spotify users are experiencing difficulties while trying to add playlists to their queue. And this is because the option to do so has been unavailable for more than a week.

People have also observed that the swipe-to-queue gesture is no longer functional. They claim to be facing such problems across multiple platforms ever since they installed a recent app update.

And sadly, contacting the support team has not been fruitful for them. Interestingly, some contend that the ‘add to queue’ option is still available to them.

This has made users speculate that Spotify might be A/B testing some changes. By doing so, they can study the effects that the alterations have on a subset of users.

Also, the company can confidently make its final decision regarding the addition or removal of features. Naturally, people are disheartened to learn that Spotify is thinking of removing such a basic and useful feature.

Some are even thinking of migrating to alternative streaming services if this problem isn’t resolved soon.

I am having the exact same issue on my device. No active update that I’m aware of. I know I’d added a playlist to my queue no more than 48 hours ago, probably less.

One of those impacted claims they cannot find the ‘add to queue’ option on any playlist. They allege to be experiencing the same issue across different accounts.

Another adds that they cannot access multiple features like add to queue, recently played, replay, and shuffle play on their free tier account.

Support told me it’s only on songs you can add to queue. But I am talking about adding the whole playlist. I was able to do that and now that option is gone.

People are now requesting the developers to bring back the ‘add to queue’ option.

Fortunately, Spotify is aware of the issue and is currently working on fixing it. The company says that the bug fix will be rolled out in the next update and has advised users to turn on automatic updates.
