[Updated] Splitgate crashing issue acknowledged; Big Head Snipers, Splitball & Fiesta to return to Quick Play soon

Splitgate is a free FPS video game developed and published by 1047 Games in May 2019. Initially, it was available on Linux and Windows, but later on, it also got support for Xbox and PlayStation gaming consoles.

1047 Games keeps on sending regular software updates to keep the video game up to date and free from any kind of bugs. However, it seems that the recent software update has brought some issues for the gamers.

As per the reports (1, 2, 3) some users have complained that after installing the latest software update, the Splitgate is randomly crashing after launch. This is making the video game unplayable.

Besides the crashing issues, the game modes such as Big Head Snipers, Splitball, and Fiesta are also missing and the users don’t have access to any of them. (Source – 1, 2, 3, 4)

Every game mode I play is gone. Team fiesta, splitball, laser tag. All gone. I was so happy redeeming codes came to console but now I have no game modes to play. I see there’s rotation on game modes but what’s the point if I can’t log that day for the game modes I really enjoy. I think this is good bye. If I can’t have fun what’s the point. (Source)

Since this recent update, the game just randomly crashes 2-3 minutes after I launch it. I’ve restarted the game, console and have even checked for updates to the game but it doesnt seem to fix it. Any help? (Source)

Both the PlayStation and Xbox gamers are affected by these problems. However, it is affecting all of them differently. For some, the game is crashing in the gameplay, while for some it’s troubling when they try to play it.

Meanwhile, it is good to see that Splitgate has acknowledged both the issues and stated that it is aware of the crashing bug, and promised a fix in the next few days.

Additionally, the three missing game modes – Big Head Snipers, Splitball, and Fiesta will also be added back to Quick Play anytime soon.

These issues seem big and can be frustrating at times as they completely ruin the gameplay experience. The users have tried workarounds like restarting the game and even resetting the console, but these problems remained unfixed.

The culprit of these issues is clearly the recent software update of Splitgate. The latest update introduced some new features and improvements, but at the same time, it also brought annoying bugs.

12:48 pm (IST): Some users are now reporting (1, 2) an issue where Splitgate is crashing on consoles.

Luckily, the support team has acknowledged this issue and said that they are working on a fix. However, they did not provide any ETA for the same.
