Players of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 have reported a frustrating issue where the game’s collectibles, known as Spider Bots, fail to appear at their designated locations. While this problem may not directly impact the main storyline, it is proving to be a significant source of frustration for completionists.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has garnered widespread critical acclaim and captured the hearts of fans, solidifying its position among the highly acclaimed PlayStation originals. While the game’s core elements remain relatively issue-free, recently reported bugs and glitches, particularly concerning the Spider-Bot side quests, are leaving players somewhat dissatisfied.

Spider Bots Absent in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, an action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Studios, revolves around the beloved web-slinger from Marvel comics. It boasts an expansive open-world map featuring various side quests and activities.

One of the longest and, according to some, “most tedious” missions in the game is called ‘Science Buddy.’ In this mission, players, assuming the role of Spider-Man, must locate tiny robotic spiders known as Spider Bots scattered throughout the map.

These bots are themed around different Spider-Persons from various dimensions, paying homage to the popular animated movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. To make all these Spider Bots visible on the mini-map, players can purchase the “All-Seeing” upgrade in the Suit Tech section under Traversal.

However, even after acquiring this upgrade, numerous players are reporting that the spiders are not appearing at their designated locations. This issue has left many players unable to complete the mission and experience a unique cutscene.

While some reports mention issues with Spider Bots all over the map, some players have pointed out that claims of the Spider Bot in Central Park not appearing are inaccurate. In reality, the Spider in that area is situated underground.

Nevertheless, the majority of reports appear to be accurate, and there have been no official statements addressing these concerns.

The ‘Science Buddy’ Ganke Issue

Inability to collect all the Spider Bots isn’t the only problem afflicting this side quest. Some players have also reported that, even after collecting the bots, they are unable to complete the mission.

Following the collection of the Spider Bots, Spider-Man’s companion, Ganke, is supposed to send a special message that triggers a unique cutscene. However, for some players, this message is not being sent for reasons unknown.

Experienced players have shared a potential solution to this issue. According to them, accessing the in-game Spider-Man app and selecting the relevant prompt will prompt Ganke to initiate the mission’s conclusion.
