Tumblr recently introduced some changes to the platform that brought a refreshed look for embedded posts across the internet.
The update also fixed some issues with the polls feature as well as a bug on the web that prevented one from editing or publishing non-text-only submissions in some scenarios.
However, some Tumblr users are unhappy as they are being frequently troubled by spam bots or porn bots.
Spam or porn bots on Tumblr a rising concern
According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple users are facing an issue where they are being followed by spam or porn bots with disturbing content.
This problem has been ongoing for years, but the platform has not taken concrete steps to eradicate it.
Some allege that spam or porn bots keep on following their profile every now and then even if they try keeping a low profile or remaining private.
As of now, you can only get rid of them by manually blocking or reporting each one, which is a time-consuming and annoying process.
I just want more artists/fans to follow me on Tumblr– not porn bots. Porn bots are like bees of the internet and they’re so unwanted.

Another person on Twitter claims that they feel uncomfortable when such bots follow their accounts and are now thinking of deleting their Tumblr account.
Those affected are now asking the developers to fix the problem so that they can use the platform without being bothered by disturbing bot content.
Official acknowledgment
Fortunately, Tumblr has officially acknowledged the issue and is currently working on fixing it. Although, no official ETA has been provided for the same.
We do hope that Tumblr helps users get rid of the annoying bots as soon as possible.
