New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on April 02, 2022) follows:

Rainbow Six Siege is one of the most competitive FPS titles available. Published by Ubisoft, the game was launched back in 2015 and is currently in its seventh year.

But since the start of the year, players have complained about several issues such as Battle Pass challenges not progressing and mute button being greyed out.

That being said, Rainbow Six Siege players are now saying (1,2,3,4,5) that they are unable to download the latest update that was released a few days ago. Others say they are getting ‘Error code [3-0x00030081]’ when trying to connect to the game servers.

Some reported that they tried reinstalling the game but it does not help. Here are some reports from Rainbow Six Siege players who are unable to download the latest update.

Cannot download 31.3.2022 update
Game has been playing and downloading updates just fine until today – however I cannot download the latest update which I received today. I get a message to check my internet connection or ensure I have enough drive space – both of which I checked and are just fine. What is happening? I have not seen this error before. Anyone else encountering the same issue? Any solutions please?

Is anyone else having this problem. The March 2, 2022 update (date of failed download) will not download. Note after starting update in progress bar says “Ubisoft Connect is unable to start your download. Please check that you have an active internet connection and sufficient space on your hard drive then try again. My internet connection is good and solid with no problems with any other connection including Uplay/Ubisoft Connect and access to the store. I have over 950GB of open hard drive and 16GB of memory.
