After acquiring Nest back in 2014, Google had kept the company at an arm’s length for a few years. But after five painstaking years, the tech giant finally decided to embrace Nest and folded Nest into its Home division.

Last year, Google introduced two new Nest products- Google Nest Cam Battery and Google Nest Doorbell Battery. As it turns out, the company is slowly killing the Nest app.

While the move has been welcomed by many, those who already own previous gen Nest products and bought the new ones say they are having a hard time managing their devices since they have to use two apps.

That being said, Nest app users are now reporting that they are no longer receiving password reset emails from Nest. Many said they tried whitelisting the Nest email address and checking their Spam folder but there was no email.

This is a really serious issue since those who own previous-gen Nest products won’t be able to set up devices in case they forgot their password.

As it turns out, a Community Specialist said that they have escalated the matter to the concerned team.

Hi everyone, Thanks for your patience on this, I wanted to let you all know that I have been in contact with our engineering team on this. They wanted to confirm that you are using the same email address for your Nest account as well. For the non-gmail users, please check with your email provider to see if they can see any email delivery issues on their end and let us know. I look forward to hearing from you.

A week ago, they asked affected users if they were able to get the password reset email from Nest.

But with reports still coming in, it looks like the issue hasn’t been resolved. We wonder what’s taking Google so long to fix the issue with Nest password reset emails.

With Google yet to say anything on the matter, it is still unclear how long it will take for Nest users to receive passwords via email. Rest assured, we will be updating this space when they do so stay tuned for updates.
