Original story (published on August 16, 2023) follows:

Snapchat’s ‘My AI’ feature has been presenting a curious behavior in the last few hours, causing the bewilderment and even concern of several users.

More specifically, many were surprised to see how Snapchat ‘My AI’ posted a story, something only normal users should be able to do. Also, the feature stopped working for others.

Snapchat ‘My AI’ posting a story scares users; AI down for some

Like other social networks and messaging services, Snapchat allows you to publish ‘Stories’. In fact, it was a pioneer in this. Stories are basically temporary posts that remain visible for 24 hours.

That said, Snapchat ‘My AI’ posting a story as if it were a human user is not the only thing that is drawing attention, but the content posted.

According to reports, the chatbot uploaded a story where only a wall could be seen in a video for a few seconds, something that is leaving many baffled.

The unusual situation is making many suspicious of a potential hack to ‘My AI’ feature. The lack of an official word by the Snapchat team does not help to calm these theories.

everyone’s Snapchat ai got hacked people are saying it’s recording you and has your location all chats saved my eyes only etc but like people like to say things to make people panic sooo who knows about the tracking stuff

My AI on Snapchat is certainly broken. Or… HACKED. No AI can post a ceiling pick. And we know you ain’t busy boy.

Let’s hope that soon there will be an official statement that offers clarity on the situation. After all, those who suspect a hack might also be concerned about the integrity of their personal data.

We will be monitoring the situation to update this story as events unfold.
