Snapchat is one of the leading social media platforms that makes it possible for users to connect and interact with their peers and family.

The company, time and again introduces new features that help make exchanging pictures or videos fun and exciting.

For instance, last year, Snapchat introduced Snapstreak (or Streak) that allows users to track the number of consecutive days they and their friend shared snaps.

Snapchat charging users to restore streaks

Recently, an option to restore a streak of 7 days or longer with an in-app purchase has been introduced on the platform. Although, the cost of doing so increases with the number of times it has been restored.

However, by looking at the reports, it appears that multiple Snapchat users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) are disappointed by the company’s move of charging them to restore their broken streaks.

Some even find it totally ridiculous and unnecessary as the company is already earning a lot through ads and Snapchat+ subscription. They are of the view that Snapchat should provide this option for free.

This is also understandably upsetting for those who found the feature to be enjoyable or have lost their streaks due to internet connectivity issues.

Those affected have taken to web forums to express their concerns about the same.

Users have even questioned the point of asking one to pay money for just restoring a count. On the other, some also believe that allowing the platform users to restore their streaks takes away the special feelings one has for it.
