Multiple Slack users are unhappy with the redesigned user interface (UI), as it looks similar to Microsoft Teams.

Slack has recently started rolling out the UI to new teams, and it will continue to reach out to old users in the coming months.

The new UI has been designed with the aim of enhancing organization, focus, and productivity. The company claims that it features better navigation, dedicated views, and easy access to essential tools.

Additionally, the new ‘Home’ view consolidates apps, channels, and direct messages in one place. And Multi-workspace users can now access channels from all workspaces in Home.

However, by looking at the reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), it appears that multiple Slack users are unhappy with the recent modifications.

A prevailing sentiment among users is that the new UI combines aspects of various existing platforms, particularly Microsoft Teams.

And this has without a doubt raised questions about the platform’s uniqueness and innovative vision, which users were expecting from Slack.

Some claim that the new Slack UI seems to be a fusion of Microsoft Teams and Miro. While others assert that the app has an interface like a typical generic email client.

People liked the previous UI because it was simple and easy to use. They also believe that instead of redesigning the UI, the developers should work on improving the efficiency, speed, and reliability of operations.

A few also claim that the app shares similarities with both Cisco WebEx and Microsoft Teams.

I hope @element_hq doesn’t take any inspiration from the new Slack UI. Element has achieved a good steady state of information density and ease of use. Stick with it.
