Samsung is one of the few smartphone manufacturers that has actually improved when it comes to both hardware as well as software.

A few years ago, the South Korean smartphone was known for TouchWiz which is undoubtedly one of the worst custom Android skins of all time. But that seems to have changed with the release of One UI.

That being said, Samsung recently released the latest version of their custom Android skin known as One UI 4.0 based on Android 12. It brings in several new features and drastically improves existing ones.

And while One UI 4.0 is yet to come to all eligible devices, it came to light that the developers are already working on One UI 4.1 for the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Thanks to one of our readers, we were able to get hold of some screenshots that indicate Samsung has begun internal testing the One UI 4.1 update for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Note 10+, Z Fold 3, S21 FE & more.

The new internal builds were spotted through the CheckFirm app and show a bump in the firmware. It is interesting to note that whenever the first alphabet changes, like BULC > CVAA it indicates a major update, either an Android update or a One UI update.

And since there are no signs of Android 13 till now, it is highly likely that the devices are being internally tested for the One UI 4.1 update.

If Samsung is consistent like it has been in the last few years, it is highly likely that One UI 4.1 will come pre-installed with the S22 series.

Moreover, it is expected that the update will bring some of the features or tweaks that come with the new S22 devices to older smartphones.

We can expect to see the One UI 4.1 update begin rolling out by the end of February to flagship models such as the S21 series, Fold 3/Flip 3, and the Note 20 Ultra. Other models should follow suit in the coming months.

Rest assured, we’ll keep an active track of the developments on this one and update the story, as and when required. In the meantime, make sure to check out our One UI 4.1 update tracker for more information.
