Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 leaves some fans utterly disappointed, citing little to no upgrades or changes

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event is always a highly anticipated occasion for tech enthusiasts and loyal fans of the brand.

During the event, Samsung introduced not only the Galaxy Z Fold 5 but also the Z Flip 5 and other gadgets. Fans were eager to witness what the company had in store to maintain its position as a pioneer in the foldable phone market.

Unfortunately, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 fell short of expectations, particularly when compared to the more impressive upgrades seen in the Z Flip 5 with its larger outer display (1,2,3,4,5,6).

Damn, the Galaxy Fold 5 may be the most underwhelming phone iteration I’ve ever seen. Doesn’t even have a bigger battery :/ Wasn’t looking to trade my Fold 4 in any time soon anyway so I don’t care a whole lot, but hopefully the 6 next year will be crazy to make up for it

For real, this “upgrade” is the most underwhelming thing i’ve seen in years, just sad tbh. And the trade-in value is also the worst i’ve ever seen.
I get that companies nowadays just go for the safe route but this “upgrade” is anything but.

Discontent among fans stems from the fact that nearly everything else in the Galaxy Z Fold 5 seemed identical to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Only a better hinge and an upgraded processor sets the new phone apart.

The cameras also remain unchanged despite significant advancements in smartphone photography technology in recent years.

Not worth it I think. Love that the blue color matches my s23 ultra but it’s just thinner than my Fold 4. The camera is important to me and it’s practically the same. I bought the S23 ultra for the camera.

Therefore, when it came to the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the improvements were rather lackluster for some including MKBHD.

Little to no upgrades or changes also concerning

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 also didn’t have any significant design or modifications. Although the Z Fold series has always been hailed for its inventive design, fans had hoped to see some improvements or a totally new style.

Fans were excited to see ground-breaking innovations that would distinguish the Galaxy Z Fold 5 from its predecessors. But considering the limited upgrades, they are now questioning whether it is worth the investment.

So keeping in mind the users’ feedback and concerns, Samsung must strive to push the boundaries of innovation in the foldable smartphone market.

That said, only time will tell if future releases meet the expectations of fans and tech enthusiasts alike.
