Samsung just announced a duo of amazing new watches – Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic. These watches come with multiple cool features, although several of them can only be used if you own a Samsung smartphone as well.

These features include historic measurement tracking of blood pressure, SpO2, VO2 Max, irregular heartbeats, body composition, and sleep tracking. All of them make use of the 3-in-1 health sensor on the Galaxy Watch 4.

The tracking will be done through the Samsung Health Monitor app that can be installed only on Samsung smartphones.

Because of this, users with smartphones from other brands looking to purchase the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 cannot make use of the app and its native features.

Fortunately, a developer has already ported the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Health Monitoring app for all devices while also removing several of its restrictions and adding some new features as well.

Some of the additional features are multilanguage support and no root detection. This is combined with the removal of restrictions pertaining to devices, age limit, and lock screen.

Do note that Huawei phones are hit or miss with the port as they’re facing issues due to DPI.

Ready to get started with the installation? Well, now would be a good time to tell you that the installation part is a bit tricky and may even take quite some time.

But once all’s done, you will be running a virtually bugless Samsung Health Monitor app on an ‘unsupported’ non-Samsung device, that you can pair with your Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 or others.

The installation tutorial comes in the form of a video, so be sure to follow the instructions within.

Other details and installation material can be found on this original XDA thread.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Health Monitoring app port is still being actively developed, with new updates being released regularly, so you’d want to give feedback to its dev through the above thread in case of any unwarranted issues.
