Here’s the crux of the article in video form

The Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup is Samsung’s latest lineup of flagship smartphones and is powered by the best-in-class Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SOC.

The successor to the Galaxy S22 segment also has improved cameras with better low-light photography and support for fast charging.

However, some Samsung Galaxy S23 device owners are unhappy because they are unable to charge their phones as quickly as advertised.

Samsung Galaxy S23 series not charging super fast

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9), some are facing an issue where they are unable to fast charge their phones. It is alleged that the option to fast charge their smartphones is missing.

A S23 mobile device owner has tried fast charging their device with their aukey adapter but claims that their phone charges extremely slowly.

Even though they were able to fast charge a S9 and S21 series smartphone, it failed to work on the newer flagship mobile.

While another device owner claims to have tried fast-charging their mobile device with multiple capable chargers, they were unable to quickly charge it even when they had the ‘super fast charge’ option enabled on their smartphone.

Customers are disappointed due to this and have taken to the web forums to express their dilemmas.

My base S23 seems to be charging quite slowly with my 25W charger. It goes from 10% to around 54% in 30 mins (so 44% in 30 mins). In comparison, my old S20+ gets around 55% total charge in the same time.

Liking it so far, however it doesn’t seem to fast charge. If I plug my S22 ultra into the same charger, I get super fast charging speeds, whereas my s23 shows no difference in charging speed regardless of what the fast charge setting is toggled to.

Some have even questioned the point of purchasing a new flagship smartphone if it is not able to fully charge it as quickly as it is advertised.

A concerned user contacted Samsung’s customer support in this regard who stated that this option is not enabled by default on the recently shipped S23 phones.

How to enable super fast charging

To activate this feature, go to Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > More battery settings, and from there enable the super-fast charging option.

It is also worth mentioning that the stock USB-C cable bundled with the box is a 3 amp one, and the one that is required to achieve the advertised 45 watt ‘Super fast charging 2.0’ is a 5amp cable.

Samsung also warns that the feature can’t be enabled or disabled while charging the phones.
