Over the past couple of months, Samsung Galaxy S10 users have been reporting about a strange issue. As per the affected users, their device is showing incorrect data usage. Meaning the total usage shown, does not match with the date usage of individual apps. One affected user said:

My problem is, that my mobile data usage is extremely high although I am mainly using wifi. When I track my Mobile Data Usage in the settings they say i used 1.85 GB within 10 days, but if i sum up the usage of the individual apps listed below I only count 450MB

This Galaxy S10 data usage mismatch issue appears to be quite widespread as it had been reported by several users. Earlier it was believed that the issue is affecting only North American and Canadian users. However, users from Germany and France have reported the same issue as well.

There have been lengthy discussions about Galaxy S10 data usage mismatch on the Google support forum and Samsung community forum. But so far, it doesn’t seem to have been fixed. Affected users have tried several tricks such as factory resetting, clearing caches and more, but with no success.

For now, there is not much clarity on the Galaxy S10 data usage mismatch issue. It is not known if the issue is with Android or the device, or at the carrier’s end. However, considering the issue is being reported by the Galaxy S10 users, Samsung may be blamed for this.

Samsung, on its end, is yet to admit the issue officially. However, one user, earlier this month, said that Samsung support Germany is aware of the issue and working to fix it. The same user yesterday informed that the company fixed the issue with the February-Patch.

With the February-Patch the issue is fixed and the usage of mobile data is calculated correctly now on the mobile device

However, there is no information if the issue is fixed for the North American and Canadian users. In fact, one Canadian user raised the same issue on Twitter yesterday, suggesting it is still not fixed.

For now, there is no further development on this issue. Hopefully, Samsung would fix this issue soon.
