The Samsung Galaxy S20 line of phones is the company’s flagship line for 2020. The devices represent the creme-de-la-creme of what Samsung has to offer this year. The range-topping variant, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is getting crazy good reviews.

Samsung traditionally launches two flagships in a year, the Samsung Galaxy S-line early in the year and a beefier, Note smartphone later in the year. This year’s installment is set to be the Samsung Galaxy Note 20.

Upcoming Note 20 + 5G will replace Galaxy Note 10+

This year has been a pretty messed up one in many sectors, the mobile industry included, owing to the effects of the Corona Virus (COVID-19). Many industries have shut down and many governments are implementing lockdowns.

That doesn’t seem to deter Samsung from pushing on in the development of its upcoming devices, most notably the Samsung Galaxy Note 20+ 5G. Recent reports indicate that the company is actively developing the device.

Thanks to a Geekbench listing, we can have an early glimpse of what the upcoming beastly device from Samsung has in store.

From the Geekbench listing, we can note that the upcoming device’s motherboard is codenamed ‘kona,’. This would imply that the Galaxy Note 20+ 5G is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chipset. This is the same chipset that powers the Galaxy S20 series. This is in regions that are not catered for by the Exynos chipsets created by Samsung.

As has been the case with previous Note devices, the Galaxy Note 20+ is expected to run Android 10 out of the box. If reports are correct, the Note 20+ should be Samsung’s first smartphone to ship with One UI 2.5 as well.

According to history, we should see the next Galaxy Note devices launch sometime later this year, usually around September.
