New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on May 30, 2022) follows:

Released on May 25 this year, Roller Champions is a 3v3 online multiplayer sports game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. The free-to-play title is available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

Announced at E3 2019, the gameplay pits two teams against each other with both teams aiming to score a goal. In order to do so, they must gain possession of the ball for at least one lap without losing it to the opponents.

But like every other Ubisoft title, it is far from perfect. Although the game has been out for just a few days now, players are already reporting issues such as Fatal Error: Failed to load il2cppm and Ranked skill rating not changing.

And as if these aforementioned problems weren’t game-breaking, Roller Champions players are now complaining about long matchmaking queues (1,2,3,4,5).

Many are unable to find any matches and are eventually greeted with a ‘Matchmaking could not find a suitable match and has timed out. Please try again’ error message.

Others cannot cancel matchmaking and the only way to stop it is to quit the game and log in again. You can see in the image below the error message Roller Champions players are getting when trying to find a match.

@RollerChampions is such a let-down its actually heart-breaking to see a game that me and my friends were genuinely excited for being a mostly unplayable mess. Games been out for a few days now and matchmaking still doesn’t work while Ubisoft just simply claims “User error”

Why does it take so long to match? And you can’t cancel the match. You can only quit the game and log in again. I’ve been matching the ranking pattern for 15 minutes。I like this game very much, but such questions make me worried about whether I can finish it after I open the roller pass

Thankfully, Ubisoft Support shed some light on the matter and said Roller Champions developers are currently investigating the issue where some players are experiencing long matchmaking queues.

Thank you! We are currently investigating similar reports. Can you let us know how long you’re waiting to connect to a match? Is this happening only with quick matches, or with ranked as well? Also, are you using a VPN at all?

However, they did not share a timeframe of when the bug will be fixed. We hope Ubisoft fixes the issue as soon as possible.

Until then, we will be keeping an eye out for more information and update this space as and when required so make sure you stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.

Update 1 (June 3)

04:40 pm (IST): Roller Champions support on Twitter has informed players that they have deployed a fix for the matchmaking issue. Moreover, gamers are advised to restart the game and see if it’s resolved.

A fix has been deployed to reduce matchmaking crashes! While this update gets pushed, matchmaking will be unstable, and you may find that you can’t cancel your matchmaking queue. To resolve this, restart your game to try again. (Source)
