Original story (published on May 13, 2021) follows:

Hi-Rez Studios rolled out Season 2 for Rogue Company on May 11 bringing with it a bunch of new changes to the game including a new character/rogue — Mack.

The new Season 2 Battle Pass also gives players a chance to get their hands on the coveted Wasteland Scavenger Phantom.

Players also get to play on a brand new map called Breach that is Rogue Company’s elite training facility.

Of course, there’s other stuff too including new contracts, a limited-time King of the Hill mode, and daily login rewards which has some issues of its own. More on that here.

But the most significant change with Rogue Company Season 2 is the buffs that have been applied to just about every weapon in the game which has left many players disappointed in the new time to kill (TTK).

The developers recently spoke about the new TTK changes in the game which is a direct result of increased body damage for all weapons.

This new change was apparently implemented with the goal of downing enemies one bullet faster.

But it seems many Rogue Company players want the developers to bring back the original TTK or time to kill implementation to Season 2.

I play this game for 400 hours. I’ve grown from being a random shooter to being able to easily win a gun fight. This season, I played for about eight hours. My feeling is that once you get shot, you have a 90 percent chance of dying. The pace of the game is too fast. (Source)

@RogueCompany still trying to kill their own game. This TTK change might be the straw on the proverbial camel’s back. I’m open to the melee changes, and love the extra challenges but please revert immediately (Source)

If TTK stays this way in #RogueCompany with MXR/Sahara/others I’m 100% outta here. I’m 11-1 and this sucks straight up. Game is strictly worse. (Source)

Rogue Company players who’re against the new time to kill or TTK changes in Season 2 claim that it makes the game too fast-paced and also lowers the value of good skills in the game.

Since Rogue Company is a third-person shooter, having a reduced TTK makes it almost impossible to make a comeback when at a disadvantage.

Prior to the TTK changes, players who could comfortably take on multiple enemies claim that this new change has made the game boring since most players hang around corners and gun down enemies with just a few bullets.

Of course, a shorter TTK makes sense in first-person shooters such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare since players can’t take advantage of the third-person view to spot and track enemies behind objects.

Fortunately, it seems that Hi-Rez Studios is listening to feedback from players surrounding the new time to kill or TTK change in Rogue Company Season 2.

The team has confirmed that they will be gathering data around these changes and will take into account user feedback to make any necessary adjustments to bring things to where they feel Rogue Company should be.

This means that players may have to get used to the new TTK changes in the game since it seems that Rogue Company would not be bringing back the previous TTK mechanics.

However, you can expect to see some improvements over the next few weeks. That said, not all players are against the new changes in TTK.

Some say that this change is for the better (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). Well, what do you think about the new time to kill or TTK change in Rogue Company Season 2? Let us know by participating in the poll (Note: results will be updated after a week).

Update 1 (May 21)

11:24 am (IST): The votes are finally out and it’s clear that most players believe that the new TTK is terrible as 75% voted against the change. 15% claim that they like the new TTK tweak. 10% say that they don’t care.
