Rocket League is one of the most popular multiplayer games. It offers a pretty unique gameplay proposal that combines football with driving.

However, currently Rocket League players are facing some issues that can severely impact gameplay experience (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12).

According to multiple reports, Rocket League players are seeing 0 ping on the scoreboard, while others are also experiencing noticeable lag (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10).

There is currently a glitch in Rocket League causing the game to always display ‘0 ping’ in the scoreboard UI.

However, that doesn’t stop players from experiencing high levels of ping that negatively impact matches.

Is this a glitch? My games have 0 Ping with random showings of the ping,such as in this photo. Is this intended to be in the game?

Random noticeable lag during Rocket League matches

Another issue that Rocket League players are facing is a noticeable lag that appears suddenly when playing matches.

The problem can cause delayed response of cars to commands, rubber banding, random teleporting and more.

Any way to fix random lag?

I’ve been playing lots lately, and I’ve never had lag issues. I’m on 600 mbps cable internet, hardwired to PS4.

Tonight I made it to the semis of a tournament against a SUPER toxic team, and suddenly my ping was sky high and I was rubber banding and teleporting everywhere. Unplayable.

Connection issues..? New servers?

Has anyone else been lagging exceptionally more frequently? I’ve noticed I’ve been lagging tremendously at the start of every match to the point I cannot do a proper kickoff. And when looking at the leaderboard I always have 0 ping, and start lagging when my ping is at 30+.

Developers working on a fix for ‘0 ping on scoreboard’ issue

Rocket League developers are aware of the ‘0 ping on scoreboard’ issue and are working on a fix. However, there are no details yet on an ETA for its rollout.

Potential workaround for the random lag issue

On the other hand, there is still no official word on the random lag issue yet. But, there is a potential workaround that reportedly helps mitigate it notably:

I fixed my insane lag by switching router connection from 2.4Ghz to 5Ghz. Ping was in 300 – 390 range. Now in 40 – 45 range.

If you’re already in 5Ghz, try switching to 2.4Ghz.
