New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on September 09, 2021) follows:

Rocket League is one of the most popular video games in recent times. Released in July of 2015, the main objective is the same as football, but instead of humans, we have rocket-powered cars.

Ever since the game went free-to-play in September last year, Rocket League witnessed a huge influx of new players. Psyonix, the game developer and publisher, frequently brings new content to keep it fresh.

As you already know, Rocket League Rocket Pass lets users earn several rewards. Players are encouraged to complete challenges and are rewarded with tiers that unlock content on the go.

However, things recently went downhill. According to reports, Rocket League players are unable to gain any XP or complete any weekly challenges.

The game awards XP after a match is completed, but because of the bug, Rocket League players are not getting any XP. The same glitch is preventing players from progressing in the weekly challenges.

It looks like the issue is affecting players on several platforms, be it PC, PS, or the Xbox, since it is a server side issue.

WTF @RocketLeague, why has the game decided to stop collecting XP after completing a match now?
(Source)

@RocketLeague I’ve just completed a few of the new challenges for them not to count when I went to check them. Why is this, also keep getting unable to load xp data, after winning games, will I get this xp back?

Luckily, Rocket League developers clarified that players who are not getting XP or are unable to progress in the weekly challenges should not worry about their progress getting lost.

Some say that they started getting the XP and rewards if they went AFK in the main menu.

While Psyonix acknowledged the bug, there is no ETA on when it will be fixed. Judging by the number of reports, it looks like the issue is widespread and started after the September 8 patch.

While the issues do not seem to be game-breaking, they are quite irritating since many are unable to track their progress and are uncertain if Psyonix will give them their rewards once it is fixed.

We will update this article with more information when Rocket League developers fix the issue where players are not getting any XP and are unable to progress in the weekly challenges.

Update 1 (September 25)

05:41 pm (IST): The Rocket League team has confirmed that the issue has now been fixed.

This issue is now resolved. XP, Rewards, Tournament Titles, and Challenge Rewards are now dropping normally. Any missing Tournament Titles will be delivered over the next 24 hours. (Source)
