[Updated] Respawn aware of Apex Legends Octane Riding Dirty skin missing texture, fix in the works

Developed by Respawn Entertainment, the same studio that brought us the legendary Titanfall, Apex Legends is a Battle Royale title that was released in 2019. In April last year, the game hit the 100 million registered players mark.

But despite its popularity and large player base, those who play the game often encounter bugs such as crashing to the desktop with no error message after Season 12 update and Octane jump pad not launching players into air.

And now, Apex Legends players are complaining (1,2,3,4,5) that the Octane Riding Dirty skin has missing texture. Many say that his hands have the default character textures and are not associated with the Riding Dirty skin.

The problem seems to be making the skin completely useless for now. While many are angry with Respawn messing up the skin, others say Octane looks cooler with his default textures.

A bunch of players initially thought they had corrupt game files and tried generic solutions like verifying game files, restarting the system, and reinstalling the game but soon realized that was not the case.

You can see in the image below how the Apex Legends Octane Riding Dirty missing texture issue looks like.

Below are some reports from players who are seeing the default character textures even though they have equipped the Riding Dirty skin.

So is it just me or with the new octane skin in the collection event kind meh going around the hand area with the heirloom? Like it looks cool but I think it’s missing colors @PlayApex. can anyone confirm?

Hey @PlayApex what is going on with the new update? The Octane skin isn’t textured in first person, Rampart sometimes just can’t place her tactical at all and everyone I know randomly got between 6 and 18 battle pass levels but didn’t get any of the apex coins?

As it turns out, Apex Legends developers (Respawn Entertainment) are aware of the issue and said that it will be fixed in the coming days. However, they did not share any timeframe.

Heads up on a known issue in today’s patch: Octane’s Riding Dirty skin will have missing textures when viewed in first person. We have a fix for this currently in the works and will update when it is live.
