Replacement for missing Google Messages Categories may be on the way

Categories in Google Messages are designed to simplify messaging experience, however, some users are reporting that categories that help them sort their messages are suddenly missing.

They automatically sort your text messages into two separate tabs: one for personal messages and another for business-related ones. This helps you keep your conversations organized and easy to access.

But for some users, the Categories feature has vanished from their Google Messages app.

Instead of neatly sorted tabs, they’re now seeing all their messages bundled together in a single tab. This can be frustrating, especially if you rely on this feature to keep your communication in order.

The good news is that a product expert has acknowledged this issue and confirmed that Google is working on a replacement for the Categories feature.
