Launched in August last year, the Fitbit Charge 5 is one of the best devices currently offered by the company. The fitness tracker picks up the best features from all other devices and is a huge upgrade over the Charge 4.

It offers 20 exercise tracking modes and supports automatic activity detection for selected workouts. Powered by the Fitbit OS, the device offers up to 7 days of battery life.

That said, in 2020, the company introduced a new app called Relax that offers a guided breathing experience. The app is available on multiple devices such as Blaze, Inspire HR, Ionic, Sense, Versa, Luxe, and the Charge series.

But for some reason, the developers decided to make the Relax app incompatible with the Fitbit Charge 5. Many were frustrated and requested Fitbit to add support for the device.

Unsurprisingly, a feature request was made to Fitbit in September last year to which a mod asked those interested to vote in masses.

Below are some reports from users requesting developers to add support for the Relax on the Charge 5.

Dear FitBit, Why did you remove features and make apps unavailable? I’m a new user and am very disappointed in the limited app selection for the Charge 5. Very much considering switching to “the other guys” as this is ridiculous. I specifically wanted the Relax app. This is very disappointing. Hopefully the eight pages of comments that started in 2021 will be taken seriously.

And now with enough votes on the post, a Fitbit Moderator has commented on the matter and said the feature request is currently under review.

Hi everyone! I understand how helpful this feature is for you and appreciate you for supporting this idea. Our development team evaluates every request posted in the Feature Suggestions board and tracks their demand over time. As you know, this idea is under review and once we have more details, we’ll update it accordingly, so please watch this space for status updates.

While it is still unclear if the Relax app will be coming to the Fitbit Charge 5, it is a significant step in the right direction. Fitbit Support also commented on the matter and said Charge 5 users can use the EDA scan app to help them relax and get feedback on stress.
