Original story (published on September 17, 2020) follows:

No single piece of software is perfect. The same is true for many software running on most Android devices today. That is why we get regular security patches and bug-fix updates.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S was unveiled earlier this year and it ran Android 10 out of the box with the company’s own custom Android skin, MIUI 11. The device is in line for an update to MIUI 12 but that hasn’t been rolled out yet.

Powered by the Snapdragon 720G, this device promises solid power and performance to anyone in the market for a decent mid-range device but isn’t too keen to break the bank while at it.

Sadly though, the Note 9S is not without its flaws. According to a section of users of the device (1, 2, 3), it has a rather annoying bug that has everything to do with the call audio. Apparently, users of the Note 9S cannot be heard on the other end of the line when making and receiving normal calls. Other VoIP services like WhatsApp work just fine.

So my what’s app call audio works fine but the moment I make a normal phone call there is no audio. From either side. I can’t hear the caller and they can’t hear me. I’ve restarted my phone and checked for updates. And my what’s app calls audio works. Any idea ??
