We are already on the verge of the end of October month. However, there are still some devices that are waiting to get updated with the latest security patch.

OEMs are trying their best to push the latest Android 10 updates for their devices. Google, OnePlus, Essential, are some of the names that have rolled out the Android 10 update pretty much with its release.

But the lower tier devices are still stuck with older Android revisions, paired with outdated security patches. The situation is gradually improving, as the September security update is now available for the Redmi 8A, Honor 7A and Samsung Galaxy On6 smartphones.

So, if you are a user of any of the mentioned devices then, read below what all changes do each device get, one by one:

Redmi 8A

Recently, we have reported that the Redmi 8A received its first update in India that brought in some changes and tweaks for the device. Cut to now, the device is being served with the September patch.

The update carries the version number V10.3.3.0.PCPINXM and weighs in around 1.6 GB in size. Below is the official changelog:

– Updated Android Security Patch to September 2019. Increased system security.

App vault
– New: You can swipe down to view more shortcuts now
– Optimization: All-new design and UI

As evident from the changelog, the update does bring in quite a few changes alongside the September 2019 update. The App Vault gets a revamped design and UI elements.

You can wait for the official OTA to arrive on your device for installing this update. However, if you want to manually sideload it on your Redmi 8A then, download the package file from below:

Honor 7A

Honor 7A is also reportedly receiving the September security update. The update carries the version number AUM-AL208.0.0.184 and weighs in about 93.95 MB in size.

The update is, however, based on the EMUI version 8.0.0 (Android Oreo). Below is the official changelog and the screenshot of the same:

You can manually check for the update by heading to Settings > About phone > System updates. If there is a new notification then, tap on it to install the latest update.

Samsung Galaxy On6

The Samsung Galaxy On6, which is a rebranded model of the Galaxy J6, was launched in July 2018. It is also reportedly getting ticked of from Samsung’s list of devices waiting for the September update.

The device was served the August update timely and brought in fixes for some unknown bugs and improved the device’s stability.

The update carries the version number J600GFDDU2BSI2 and weighs around 403.90 MB in size.

Note that the update is rolled out via OTA in batches and will take some time in hitting all the devices. However, you can check for it manually by heading to Settings>>About Device>>System Updates>>Check for updates.
