With millions of players worldwide, Fortnite is the most popular Battle Royale title on the internet in terms of watch time.

Developed and published by Epic Games, it was released in 2017. However, thanks to the frequent updates, the game still feels fresh thanks to the developers bringing in new content in the form of events, cosmetics, and much more.

A few days ago, Fortnite marked the start of Chapter 3 Season 1 called “Flipped”. The island from Chapter 2 has now flipped and revealed several new locations.

However, the start of Fortnite Chapter 3 also brought in some changes to the gameplay with the developers nerfing the aim assist when using a controller.

Fortnite players are now complaining (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) that the aim assist has been nerfed so much that they feel like it’s non-existent. Many say that this gives keyboard and mouse players a huge advantage over those who prefer controllers.

Some say they are not able to get a single kill thanks to the fast-paced gameplay combined with the now nerfed aim assist. Many are angry with Epic Games’ decision and want the developers to revert the changes.

I legitimately cannot hit something unless its 5 feet in front of me. I’ll shoot at someone that is somewhat far away and every single shot will miss. It feels like I don’t even have aim assist. Then someone will instantly kill me from 200m away with an assault rifle. I’m frustrated. I don’t even feel like my aim is the worst its ever been, everyone else just seems to have laser like accuracy.
Edit: got mad. Uninstalled. Won’t be playing again.

I understand that the top tier of controller players abused aim assist, but for the 95% of controller players that don’t have godly aim, we are now screwed. I would consider myself above average at best, but with aim assist I actually had a chance of hitting someone more than two times before they could react. Aim assist was designed for players like myself who can usually get a couple kills with shotguns but struggle from far distances.That slight movement to the left or the right to adjust to where the target is used to be crucial to average players like me, but since the top % of players abused it now I’ve been struggling more than usual.

It looks like the aim assist nerf is really making Fortnite unplayable for those using controllers. But with Epic Games yet to say anything on the issue, it is highly unlikely that the changes will be reverted in the coming days.
