This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..

Original story (published on May 10) follows:

The Chineses phone maker Realme has been delivered the Android 10-based Realme UI update to the eligible devices well in the schedule. So far, the phones that have been upgraded include – Realme 3 Pro and XT (January), Realme X and 5 Pro (February), Realme X2/X2 Pro (March), Realme 3/3i (April).

Going by the roadmap, Realme 5 lineup – Realme 5, 5s and 5i – are due to be upgraded to Android 10 during this month, i.e. May. As per Realme’s trend so far, the stable Android 10 (ColorOS 7 as the devices come baked with ColorOS 6) update is less likely to be delivered to the Realme 5 lineup before the last week of May.

What’s good is that the Android 10/ColorOS 7 beta registration has begun at least for two among the three expecting- Realme 5 and 5s. Realme 5i devices, however, have been left behind (hope they don’t have to wait for long). FYI the registration quota is limited to 1500 devices only, so hurry up.

The update is in fact already hitting the devices as version RMX1911EX_11_C.33 (sized 2.86 GB) and brings the latest iteration of ColorOS i.e. 7.1.

The information regarding the beta registrations opening up came in the form of an official announcement post at the community with a warning that users won’t be able to rollback (to the current Pie version RMX1911EX_11_A.28) after installing the ColorOS 7.1 update.

So be sure that you really want this, otherwise, wait for the stable version.

There’s however no mention of how long it will take for the same to land on Realme 5i in the announcement. Rest assured, we’ll be keeping a tab and will keep you posted about the latest developments on the matter. So keep a tab on this space.

Till then, happy installation to those who get to be part of the beta program. Fee free to share with us your experience in comments.
