Developed by TeamKill Media, Quantum Error is a soon-to-be released first-person shooter horror game that will test you both mentally and physically.

As a fireman, you need to investigate a burning research facility and stop the rift from spreading using your weapons and abilities.

One also needs to be cautious not to get too close to the rift, or they’ll get pulled into a world of madness. Despite being announced in 2020, the game has not been released after a span of three years.

A few days ago, the developers made an announcement and stated that the game’s development cycle has been pretty much completed and that they are waiting for some final approvals before it can be sold.

Quantum Error devs respond to Xbox optimization concerns ahead of official launch

Initially announced as a PS5 exclusive, the developers later started developing it for Xbox Series X/S as well as PC, with the aim of allowing players across different platforms to enjoy the gameplay.

Recently, they also communicated that the Xbox variant could have a big downgrade as compared to the PS5 version. In addition to this, it is said to feature additional loading screens.

And this is because the Xbox consoles are equipped with slower SSDs, which could potentially create problems while trying to play a boss fight.

According to the developers, the fight changes levels instantaneously 4-5 times like in the Rachet and Clank game.

And without the extra speed of the storage unit, it could stall or hitch while transitioning, hampering the overall experience.

It should be noted that the PS5’s SSD offers raw read speeds of 5.5 GB/s, while the Xbox Series X/S is limited to 2.4 GB/s. This hardware limitation, undoubtedly, can make porting the game to the Xbox quite a challenge.

However, by looking at the reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) it appears that this news has not been well received by multiple gamers.

Some say that the game has an intriguing and eccentric appearance and are hoping that it is somewhat enjoyable. While others assert that they have lost interest in playing it.

A player mentions that the damage control efforts made by the developers are chaotic. They believe that the team should have searched for better alternatives to optimize the boss fight.

The speed difference isn’t even huge. When ur that fast it don’t matter. Games come to PC and work just the same with slower ssds.

Maybe it’s a lack of skill.

On the other hand, a section of players is happy with the developers’ decisions and does not mind the additional loading times.
