PUBG (Player’s Unknown Battlegrounds) hits the headlines almost every time it releases a new update. Not for new features, but for functionalities the updates usually breaks. Despite how the game is a heck of an unoptimized mess, players still put up with the bugs & continue playing it as it is.

Of late, we are getting reports about some annoying bugs making the game totally unplayable.

Let’s face it, PUBG is not just a game, it has become a phenomenon. But with recent bugs and crashes, players are trying to make the game devs realize how bad these bugs are. Adding more to their woes, Windows recently rolled out an update which made things even worse.

While the Windows update affected almost every program, PUBG was affected the most (probably because of poor optimization) as players started to face stutters and frame rate issues.

The Windows update which caused these problems, specifically the KB4512941 has a botched Cortana and it took almost 40% of the CPU. This obviously affected a lot of players as performance went down. It also caused stuttering in the game eventually making it difficult to play.

While none of this is on the game developers, an optimized game would still be running better. But nonetheless, this issue has to do Windows and the only solution is to roll back to an earlier version for now.

Moving on, there’s another case where players have been reporting audio-related problems. They complain the sound in the game has been acting up. While the sound of footsteps of teammates are more than loud enough, the sound of enemies are almost undetectable.

There also are cases where player report there’s no sound whatsoever. This certainly raises concern as audio is of course crucial for playing the game. PUBG community is not new to these kind of bugs. There were issues recently because of which even the game streamers quit the game.

Anyway, for the time being, there seems to be no fix to the audio problem but there is a fix to the stuttering issue. If your task manager shows Windows components using a large amount of resources, roll back to previous version and it should fix the stutters.

We will keep you updated on the audio issue and as soon as we come across a fix, we will update this story. So keep a tab of this space. What are your opinions on these PUBG bugs? Let us know in the comment section below!
