Pokemon Go players are reporting that they are not able to enter the showcases. Multiple reports seem to claim various instances and issues with the showcases. The reports managed to get the attention of the devs and they have shared some potential workarounds.
Pokemon Go bugged showcases frustrating players
The Pokémon GO Showcase is a feature that allows Trainers to compete by displaying their best Pokémon at PokéStops. It is a local event where Trainers can compare specific attributes of their Pokémon, such as size or weight, and earn rewards based on their Pokémon’s performance.
The Showcase is time-limited, and only a limited selection of Pokémon can compete in a particular Showcase. Trainers can enter their Pokémon into a Showcase at a PokéStop with a blue circular icon indicating a contest. However, according to the reports, even after coming near a blue icon, they are unable to enter the show.
According to the reports, a button shows up saying “Enter nearby Pokémon showcase” when a player catches a Pokemon. But when they try to enter the showcase, a prompt saying “Move closer to enter this showcase.” shows up.

Unfortunately, when they come near and try to enter the show, the blue indicator disappears. However, others claim that, even after entering the show, there is a bug that is making the Pokemon’s stats malfunction.
Reportedly, when the players try to enter a Pokemon in Showcase, the original stats of the Pokemon and Pokemon’s state shown on the showcase differ, making it very hard for players to compete with others to get the top spot in the contest.
Can someone explain why I can’t enter my Sneasel in this showcase?

This issue is not new, as there has been a similar issue reported a few months ago. There has been another previous issue that reported that the Hisuian variant of Growlithe also had an absurd bug that changed the stats of the Pokemon.
But issues do not end here, the showcases are also reportedly not letting players submit the Pokemon they want, making it harder for players to compete in showcases.
Official acknowledgement and workaround
With the reports piling up, the official dev team replied to one of the complaints and let the community know that they were aware of the issue. In the same statement, players also shared a possible workaround.
According to the statement, players can potentially solve the ‘unable to enter showcase’ issue by:
- Refreshing the game data
- Then turn on Adventure Sync
- Come in proximity to PokéStop and try entering Showcase.

This workaround, in some instances, may not have the expected results.
