Recently, Pokemon GO players were provided with the option to link their accounts with the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet game.

Doing so will allow one to send and receive postcards, obtain Gimmighoul Coins and other goods, as well as the chance to capture Roaming Form Gimmighoul.

However, some are facing issues while trying to do so.

Pokemon GO account not connecting to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple players are experiencing difficulties while trying to connect their Pokemon GO accounts with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

It is alleged that gamers’ accounts are not recognized whenever an attempt is made to connect the Nintendo Switch to their smartphone. Furthermore, they get an ‘No Pokemon GO account could be found to connect to’ error message.

This is quite frustrating for those who were looking forward to sending and receiving postcards.

A Twitter user complains that even though both their devices and the game are up-to-date and connected to the same WiFi network, still they are unable to link their Pokemon GO account.

The annoyed users have taken to the web forums to express their concerns.

The affected ones have tried tinkering with the permissions on their mobile device, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, refreshing the game data, but still, they are unable to successfully link their accounts.

It is also worth mentioning that some are experiencing issues even after connecting their Pokemon GO account to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It is alleged that players’ save game files may get deleted due to a glitch.

Gamers are now requesting the developers to resolve the annoying issue soon.

Official acknowledgment

Fortunately, the Niantic Support team on Twitter has officially acknowledged the issue and said that the issue will be resolved in the upcoming version 0.265 update. Although, no official ETA for the bug fix has been provided.

Update 1 (March 6, 2023)

01:55 pm (IST): Pokemon support has suggested some troubleshooting steps and then asked players to try to connect with Scarlet & Violet.

Hi Trainer! Please try these steps & try to pair with Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet. If not, unpair any permanently connected devices like smart bands or any other Bluetooth devices & try connecting with Nintendo Switch. Let us know how it goes! ^KV (Source)

Update 2 (March 7, 2023)

03:08 pm (IST): In addition to retrying the connection after unpairing any Bluetooth device (1, 2), iOS users can also check if Bluetooth is enabled for the app on their phones:

Settings -> scroll down to Pokémon Go -> check to see if Bluetooth is enabled for the app
