New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on August 10, 2020) follows:

It has taken quite some wait for the Pocophone F1, also known as Poco F1 in India, to bag the MIUI 12 update. As of this writing, this wait is finally over, at least for those who successfully registered into the Mi Pilot program.

Many expected the MIUI 12 update to hit the device alongside the July security patch, but that wasn’t the case. Instead, the firmware arrived based on the older MIUI 11.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro, which took part in the Mi Pilot registration alongside the Pocophone F1, even went ahead and bagged the MIUI 12 update ahead of the Poco F1 in mid-July.

At the tail-end of July, we learned that Xiaomi had postponed the update by a week for unknown reasons. Just as device owners were looking forward to the release of the update the following week, news broke out that it had been postponed again, this time due to bugs and stability issues.

Well, the day has arrived and this time there is no postponement. Instead, the Pocophone F1 is now receiving the update to MIUI 12. Multiple reports coming in can confirm the update is now arriving as MIUI 12.0.0.3 QEJMIXM, but as noted, it is only going out to Mi Pilot testers.

Sure, we do have the download link with us. But it is likely that the firmware may not play nicely with non-Mi Pilot testers, you know, just like it was the case with the Redmi Note 8 Pro when the first MIUI 12 firmware went live.

  • Codename: beryllium
  • Channel: Global Stable (Mi Pilot)

We will keep an eye on the developments and let you know when the wider rollout begins not just on the global variant, but also for those in India. Meanwhile, stay tuned to our MIUI 12 update tracker to know when the update arrives on your Pocophone F1/Poco F1 and other Xiaomi devices.
