The recently released Poco F3 goes by many names depending on the region. It is sold under Poco’s umbrella globally, as the Xiaomi Mi 11X in India, and even as part of the Redmi series in China as the Redmi K40.

But even with all these confusing names, one thing is pretty clear – that the device is a pretty bang-for-buck ‘flagship killer’ that offers much more than what its price tag may lead one to believe.

Nonetheless, unfortunately, the Poco F3 did not come with MIUI 12.5 out of the box even with its fairly recent release date of late March, and instead chose to stick to the buggy MIUI 12 based on Android 11.

This comes even as its Chinese counterpart – the Redmi K40 – bagged the MIUI 12.5 update around a week back. Xiaomi is known to prioritize the Chinese variants with regards to updates and it has done the same here.

There is sadly still no news about the commencement of MIUI 12.5 releases anywhere outside China. Several other devices have already bagged the update including the likes of the flagship Mi 11, but its global variant too has been given a miss.

As the wait for the MIUI 12.5 update for the Poco F3 continues and impatience grows, there is finally some good news for the users. The Poco F3 is now capable of running stable MIUI 12.5, thanks to the Xiaomi.eu project.

For the uninitiated, Xiaomi.eu is an immensely popular community project that aims to provide the latest features introduced under the Chinese beta/stable channel to the global users. The ROMs also do away with all ads and bloatware.

If you wish to give MIUI 12.5 a try on the Poco F3, then just download the build from the link given below:

  • Device: Poco F3
  • Codename: alioth
  • Channel: Xiaomi.eu Stable
  • Version: 12.5.2.0.RKHCNXM
  • Android: 11
    • Type: Recovery

Do keep in mind though that an unlocked bootloader is a must for the installation of these ROMs. You will also want to back up your data before proceeding since your device will be wiped clean in the process.

However, if you’d rather wait for the MIUI 12.5 global update to roll out officially then stay tuned to our dedicated tracker for the same.
