The Pocophone F1 (Poco F1) will not receive the update to Android 11. Xiaomi is known to provide a maximum of two OS updates to its devices and the F1 has already received them.

Despite its new-found independence, it doesn’t look like Poco will employ different tactics on matters of software update policy. On the brighter side, the fact that Xiaomi devices are developer-friendly means you can, in fact, install Android 11 on the device right now.

The first time this happened was soon after the first Android 11 Developer Preview went live. But this was only a Generic System Image (GSI).

Today, the story is a little different. This time, a working Poco F1 Android 11 port is available based on the latest Google Pixel 4 XL Developer Preview 4.

Google is set to release the first public version of Android R next Wednesday, which makes the latest DP 4 quite a usable version. Still, you don’t have to try the Pocophone F1 Android 11 port if you don’t have another device you could turn to if things go south.

Seasoned modders shouldn’t have a problem flashing the Pixel 4 XL Android 11 DP 4 port to the Pocophone F1. As noted earlier, Xiaomi has some of the most developer-friendly smartphones out there. Below are the links to download the System, Vendor, and firmware zip files (Telegram app needed).
