Plaid is a startup that offers fintech solutions and digital financial products. That said, the company was involved in a controversy that was even taken to court.

The lawsuit was promoted by consumers who accused Plaid of selling their financial data. The company did this without notice or authorization to obtain economic profit.

The litigation was won by the plaintiff side (the clients). At that time, Plaid was ordered to pay $58 million, money that will be divided among the affected users.
