Google has recently released a new software update for Pixel Watch 2 users that brings the January 2024 security patch. However, Google hasn’t addressed any bugs with this update, including the GPS tracking issue that has been bothering Pixel Watch 2 users for quite some time now.

If you own a Pixel Watch 2 and use it to track your fitness activities, you might have encountered a frustrating problem where GPS tracking stops working midway. As per the reports, the GPS tracking works fine for the first few minutes, but then it suddenly stops.

This affects the accuracy of the distance, pace, and calories burned measurements. The issue seems to occur only when using the Fitbit app on the Pixel Watch 2, and not when using other apps like Google Fit or Strava.

One user on Reddit has shared a workaround that can help resolve the issue temporarily. The user suggests using the Google Fit app on the Pixel Watch 2 to track the activities and then linking the Google Fit account to the Strava account. This way, the activities will be synced to both Google Fit and Strava, and the GPS tracking will work properly.

However, this workaround is not ideal for everyone, as some users prefer to use the Fitbit app for its features and interface. Moreover, the workaround does not address the root cause of the problem, which is still unknown. Unfortunately, Google has not yet acknowledged this issue or provided any official solution.

If you are facing the GPS tracking issue on your Pixel Watch 2, you can try the workaround mentioned above or wait for a future update from Google.
