Your Google Pixel is already receiving a new feature that will allow you to use Quick Settings Tiles directly from the Pixel Launcher search bar results, adding a new method of accessing them.

‘Quick Settings’ is one of the best features of Android, allowing you to access or set multiple aspects in one or a few taps directly from the notification shade, whether the smartphone locked or unlocked.

For example, you can start screen recording, turn on/off the flashlight, activate ‘Do not disturb’ mode, activate ‘Power Saving’ mode, or start screen casting, among several other possibilities. Now, Google Pixel users are getting a new way to find them thanks to the ‘Quick Settings Tiles’ that are appearing in the Pixel Launcher search results.

After searching for something related to your device settings from the Pixel Launcher search bar, you will also get the related Quick Settings Tile (if available) along with online and other relevant results.

The Quick Settings Tiles in the Pixel Launcher search results are as functional as those in the notification shade. That is, you can enable and disable the function corresponding to the Tile with a simple tap.

It’s noteworthy that the search results will also show the Quick Settings Tiles that are not set in the notification shade. So, you will be able to access its functions without having to add them, allowing you to ‘clean up’ the UI by removing those that you previously had in the notification shade but only used very occasionally.

Something else you should know is that you can only search for Quick Settings Tiles from core system apps. Therefore, ones such as Calculator or Voice Recorder will not be available there, nor will those related to third-party apps.

The feature appears to be rolling out via a server-side update, and you may not have it available yet. But don’t worry, since it is only a matter of days before everyone gets it on their Google Pixel devices.
