Google is about to shake up the foldable phone market with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The rumor mill has been working overtime, and not long after promo materials leaked, the latest leaks have given us a full look at the design and colors of this much-anticipated foldable, along with certification details that include the Pixel Watch 3.
Google’s latest foldable has officially landed IMDA certification, revealing that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will carry the model number GGH2X. The certification confirms that this device will come packed with connectivity options, including UWB, 3G, 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi abgn, ac+ax+be, Bluetooth, thread, and NFC. This means it’s ready to connect to just about everything and anything.
Adding to the excitement, the Pixel Watch 3 has also been spotted on the IMDA certification list. This smartwatch, with the model number GRY0E, will feature UWB, 3G, LTE, Wi-Fi abgn, ac+ax, and Bluetooth connectivity. It’s shaping up to be a versatile companion to your new foldable phone.
Thanks to the ever-reliable Steve Hemmerstoffer (X/OnLeaks) and 91mobiles, we now have exclusive renders of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. And trust us, it looks fantastic in Obsidian and Porcelain.
Gone is the wider aspect ratio of the original Pixel Fold. Instead, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold flaunts a more traditional foldable form factor with a taller cover screen and a spacious inner folding screen. The cover screen, with its 17.4:9 aspect ratio, will now feature a center-positioned punch-hole cutout and curved edges for a better grip. Inside, the 8-inch Super Actua Flex display will boast another punch-hole for a selfie snapper, this time in the top-right corner, surrounded by symmetrical bezels.
Flip it around, and you’ll find a large square camera module at the top-left, housing two oval-shaped modules for the camera sensors and an LED flash. This is a significant departure from the single horizontal strap on the original Pixel Fold. The volume rocker and power buttons are conveniently placed on the right edge.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is shaping up to be a powerhouse. It will sport a 6.3-inch cover screen and an impressive 8-inch Super Actua Flex display. This is a step up from the original Pixel Fold’s 5.8-inch FHD+ OLED cover screen and 7.6-inch OLED inner display, both with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, expect the in-house Tensor G4 chipset, a robust upgrade from the Tensor G2 in the predecessor, paired with up to 16GB of RAM capable of handling anything you throw at it. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will feature a 48MP main camera, a 10.5MP ultrawide snapper, and a 10.8MP telephoto sensor. Up front, you’ll find a 10MP selfie shooter.
With each leak and certification, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is building serious hype. Whether you’re excited about the new design, the upgraded specs, or the impressive connectivity options, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be an exciting addition to the foldable phone market.
