Google could be planning a clever new feature for its Pixel 9 series. According to an exclusive report from Android Authority, the Google Phone app might soon be able to create AI-generated to-do lists based on your phone calls.

This feature, dubbed “Call To-do List,” builds on the existing Call Notes tool found in the Pixel 9 lineup, including the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Call Notes already uses Google’s AI tech, Gemini Nano, to summarize calls and capture key points directly in your call logs. Now, Google might take it a step further by automatically pulling actionable tasks from your conversations.

An APK teardown of the Google Phone app (version 156.0.702757710) uncovered strings of code hinting at this upcoming feature. The code links “Call To-do List” to “Fermat,” which is the codename for Call Notes. It also includes options for users to review, copy, or share their AI-generated to-do lists straight from the app.

If implemented, this feature is expected to process everything locally on your device, ensuring your data stays private. It’s another example of Google’s push to combine AI smarts with privacy-first design.

While the feature sounds promising, there’s no guarantee it will make it to a public release. APK teardowns often reveal experimental or in-progress features that might never see the light of day.

In related news, the teardown also found an update for Google’s Call Screen feature, which will soon let users track how many spam calls the app blocks each month.

For now, Pixel 9 users will have to wait and see if these handy tools officially roll out.
