New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on November 23, 2022) follows:

The FIFA World Cup has already started, and the fans are full of excitement. Eyeballs glued to screens, intense silence at first, followed by howls is becoming a common sight in living rooms and restaurants globally.

Millions of fans are using streaming platforms like Peacock to watch World Cup matches along with other TV shows and movies.

However, some have reported (1,2,3,4,5) that the app is not functioning well. The Peacock app is either crashing or keeps freezing when they try to stream live content or TV shows.

The viewers are disappointed in the app and the reason is evident. They pay for the subscription with the hope to experience high-quality content, but the outcome is the opposite.

Undoubtedly, the problem with the Peacock app crashing or freezing repeatedly is negatively affecting the viewing experience for many.

“So y’all gonna fix the @peacock app or no? Kept crashing while watching the world cup and not doesn’t even want to open”

“Thanks @peacock for freezing on me. Then when I have to exit and go back to the game, making me watch 30 seconds of ads. Really cool feature 👍🏽”

Recently, some have also been experiencing an issue where the audio and video get out of sync every time an advertisement ends.

In other cases, the app completely freezes whenever an ad plays on their Amazon Fire TV Stick.

While this can be fixed by closing it, clearing the cache, and restarting both the device and the app, this sure is annoying as it happens quite often.

Having to close the app, restart my fire tv, force stop your app & clear the cache for every commercial is just a disgrace.

Other problems related to low video quality, connectivity errors, and overall performance make things even worse for the end users.

It is imperative to note that the problem is not just limited to the FIFA World Cup streams. Reports suggest that similar issues also affect other TV shows and channels.
