Payday 3 is currently causing headaches for many players due to servers being down or not working, preventing them from enjoying the newly released game.

The most recent installment in the franchise does not seem to be having the best start, taking into account this and previously reported issues (1, 2).

Officially, the game has been worldwide available for a few hours (September 21). However, several players were able to play earlier through Early Access, although the experience didn’t seem to be the best for them either.

Now, Payday 3 servers being down, unavailable or unstable for hours after its release is proving disappointing for those hoping for a more polished experience at mass rollout.

As expected, fans who were eagerly waiting to enjoy the game are disappointed that it has been released ‘broken’ to the market. After all, we are not talking about a free-to-play, but rather a paid one.

At the time of writing this story, the dev team has only commented on the matchmaking issues. They claim to have implemented some fixes that should have improved the situation.

We have deployed some fixes, but we’re still seeing instability in the matchmaking. We’re continuing investigation and will keep working on addressing this.

However, reports related to server issues even after the fix continue to arise constantly (1, 2). So, it seems there is still a lot of work to do.

Let’s hope that the dev team manages to stabilize the Payday 3 servers soon, so that players can finally enjoy the experience they deserve.

08:59 am (IST): Several Payday 3 players report a new outage on the servers that prevents them from accessing the game (1, 2, 3, 4).

03:45 am (IST): Given the constant server issues, many Payday 3 players are asking for an offline mode. More on that here.

09:25 am (IST): Reports related to Payday 3 server issues have eased up quite a bit since yesterday, so it appears they have already been mitigated or resolved.
