As the beta testing phase of Payday 3 comes to an end, different editions of the game have been made available worldwide. Including the highly demanded Collector’s Edition for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
So far, the reviews from beta testers have been very promising. Long-time fans of the series have shared very positive remarks about the game.
I enjoyed it, can’t wait to see what sort of builds you can do in the full game with more skill points. Stealth was genuinely fun, very hitman-like. I would love if they added even more elements from hitman. Loud was genuinely challenging. I can’t wait to see more skills around human shields, they are amazing at abusing the AI. You become a top priority if you’re holding one. (Source)
Other than the gameplay, players also cherished the return of old characters like Twitch and Joy.
However, amidst all the glowing reviews, beta testers highlighted a prominent issue in Payday 3.
According to the reports, the game’s optimization for PC is very poor, causing even high-end builds with the latest GPUs to struggle with smooth performance.
I was able to get access to the beta to play with a streamer friend, the performance is very bad. I’m running a 4070ti and 5900X. At 1080p ultra is was barely getting above 60fps, at 1440p ultra, I was closer to 45fps. I couldn’t test 4K because the game refused to go above 1440p, even in full screen despite my monitor running at 4K. (source)
Besides the poor performance, another fact disappointed the PC players. Especially the ones from the US.
Payday 3 Collector’s Edition for PC isn’t available for sale or pre-purchase in the US market yet.
How to get the Payday 3 Collector’s Edition for PC in the US?
Many players were concerned that the PC Collector’s Edition was region-locked in the US.
But one user allegedly contacted official Deep Silver support and got this response:
The PC version of PAYDAY 3 on Steam is designed to follow Steam’s regulations, and as such, we don’t anticipate any region restriction issues for the Steam version. This means that there should not be regional restrictions and should work globally.
Potentially teasing that the product may made available on the US market in the future.
However, the fans who couldn’t wait till then can still technically get the Collector’s Edition right now.
As one fan suggested, the product is available in Germany and many other European countries.
So if the extra cost and shipping are not a factor, then you can order it through Amazon Germany, or any other European country where it is available right now.
As usual, we’ll post an update if and when there’s any further news about the availability of the Collector’s Edition in the US on PCs.
