OnePlus’ OxygenOS and HydrogenOS for the international and Chinese market respectively, are arguably some of the more refined skins on top of Android that we have today. OnePlus doesn’t go over the top with customization, sticking close to stock Android’s look and feel.

One aspect of OxygenOS and HydrogenOS that makes the user experience way more exciting and interesting is the company’s stock apps. These include the OnePlus Gallery, OnePlus Weather, Dialer and Messaging apps among many others.

But as we know all too well, no piece of software is perfect. From time to time, companies have to push out updates and bug-fixes to address an issue or two that often pops up during an app’s usage.

The same is happening for the OnePlus Weather app. In a publication on OnePlus’ Chinese Forum, it has come to light that a number of HydrogenOS users are facing issues with the stock weather app. According to them, the app isn’t accurate and there is a disparity between the current conditions and what the app forecasts.

In the ‘Known issues for August 2020’ post, OnePlus promises to address this issue in an upcoming update.

Q: The weather forecast information of OnePlus Weather is different from the actual situation.
A: This problem is under continuous optimization. You can update “OnePlus Weather” in the store to the latest V 2.6.1 to improve the situation. The Weather App will be further optimized in August, and the accuracy of weather information will be further improved. We will continue to optimize and bring a better experience.

Another issue that OnePlus users have been reporting and that OnePlus acknowledges is the unresponsiveness of the system when swiping to go back in the system UI. This too, the company says is being looked into and that it will be fixed in an upcoming update.

Q: Why is there often no response when sliding back to the side?
A: For the purpose of preventing accidental touches, we have reduced the area that triggers the return gesture on the picture editing page. After leaving the picture editing scene, the anti-inadvertent touch mechanism is still in effect. This problem is currently known and will be fixed in the next version. Please pay attention to subsequent version updates.

There are so many other issues that the company says it is aware of and is working on upcoming fixes so you can check out the detailed list on OnePlus’ forum here.

We shall continue to keep an eye on these issues and update when OnePlus finally rolls out the update to fix them so stay tuned for that. OnePlus already has a decent track record in terms of rolling out updates so this too shouldn’t take long.

The company is already working on Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 and you can check out which devices have been updated here. OnePlus Nord users are also looking forward to an OTA later this month that is set to bring more camera enhancements.
